We've been staying at Red Wing Farm in Swannanoa as the guest of the lovely Erika. She and the whole gang have been so kind to share their space, food, cars with us. We can't thank them enough.
The early part of last week we took time to shore up a few outstanding problems with the rig, mainly concerning rain gear. Hannah would be a black belt by now, if seamstresses took such titles.
Thursday and Friday we busked downtown Asheville, though without Meadow for various reasons. We sold lots of CDs and made lots of friends. There were numerous kind people that stopped and gave our trio rides and we can't thank them enough.
Saturday, our plan to take the whole gang - including the pony - through A-town and beyond was postponed by heavy rains that didn't let up all day. That evening we improvised with various friends and had a great time hanging out; good food, good beer, good circus, good conversation...
Sunday, we said goodbye-for-now to Westside Church friends... we will miss them a lot. We busked the rest of the day, sold more CDs and made more good friends, some of which happened to live around our first tentative destination: Clayton, GA.
The farm of Pete Ramey (natural horse-hoof-care practitioner number one!) is in that corner of Georgia and it seemed like a logical first stop, being a week's ride away in the right direction... and because Hannah hasn't stopped sharing his artfully scientific equine wisdom since first meeting him 7 years ago.
Sunday night, Harvey started feeling ill and has been bed ridden for two days now, though some improvement has been made. It could be bad food poisoning or something of the like and we ask all to pray for healing.
Aside from a few set backs, the week was excellent. God's blessings abound and our outlook for being out on the open road very soon is good.

Olive's tail hit the electric horse fence as we returned to Red Wing late Sunday night; she ran screaming and no matter what folks say about doggy memory, it's taken a solid day for her to stop slinking around.
Meadow got her nails done but continues to await real movement; Hannah made a clever waste-catching bag for her, so now we can go through towns without the worry of leaving unwanted presents along the streets.
