Hello friend,
We're Five Cent Fiddle, a quaint quartet on 12 bare feet, traipsing the fantastic corners of the land both far and near, strumming our tunes, seeking to close the gap between folks and critters, music and ears, East and West, North and South, God and us, Mom and Dad, bread and butter... you get the picture. With Nyckelharpa, octave mandolin, trusty mutt and sturdy steed, we embark from Asheville, NC heading west. The specific route is flexible; living in the moment, blowing with the wind, a literal dog and pony show... improvisation is our goal.
We also plan to leave the gadgets at home.
Most people we meet have smart phones or cameras and seem eager to use them, so we plan to let America document the adventure for us. Any images or anecdotes emailed to us by folks we meet will be posted here, providing a virtual trail for any who wish to follow; a small token of our gratitude to the loved ones who have helped us thus far.
Wish us luck, and feel free to check back for new posts every week.

Olive fell off the porch today chasing a fly; she's hilarious and unhurt.
Meadow, alongside old horsey pals, widens her belly on rich valley grass, awaiting departure.
